Danielle Bradbery Had a ‘Really Good Day’ When She Heard About Her ACM Nomination
All of the New Female Vocalist of the Year nominees also exchanged congratulatory words over text message with each other!
When Danielle Bradbery woke up to the news of her ACM nomination, she knew it was going to be the best day ever.
The minute she got out of bed and checked her phone to floods of congratulatory texts from friends and colleagues, Bradbery felt the love and knew she needed to call her family back in Texas. They also were dancing around in excitement over the news, making it a bright morning for all.
“I got a bunch of messages and calls from my family. My dad called me and was like, ‘I’m shaking over here!’ My mom and my sister texted me in their little group message. All the family is so supportive and always will be. It’s just really awesome to get all of that. I’m having a really good day,” she told Sounds Like Nashville exclusively just hours after the nominations came out.
Not only did her family and friends contact her that day to express their happiness over the nod, but all of the New Female Vocalist of the Year nominees made their own group message to let each other know that they were rooting for one another.
“It’s wonderful. I love all of those girls and genuinely do. I’ve gotten the chance to hang out with every one of them, get to know them in these past years. They’re amazing and so talented and deserve it as well. It’s really cool to be in it as friends and be happy for each other. It’s funny because all three of those girls, or all four, I lose count, actually texted in a group message. Just seeing that and being a part of that group message is very awesome. It makes me so happy. I’m so happy for them, too,” Bradbery revealed.
But what really went into Bradbery’s head was how she planned to celebrate the big occasion. A fancy cocktail seemed to make its way into her agenda for the evening, in which the singer could treat herself for all that hard work.
“I’ll probably celebrate tonight,” she said. “Go out for a drink, you know. I don’t have any plans as we speak, but I’m pretty sure they’ll start coming up soon.”
The 53rd Annual ACM Awards will broadcast live from Las Vegas on Sunday, April 15, at 8 p.m. EST on CBS.
