Despite being sent home on last week’s episode of American Idol, Tristan McIntosh is well on her way of realizing her dreams to be a country music singer.

Last night, McIntosh made her way to the Grand Ole Opry, where she had a chance to perform “Wagon Wheel” with Darius Rucker. While on stage, Rucker gave the 15-year-old some very exciting news… that she’d be making her Opry debut in just a few weeks!

“You won’t believe what just happened to me. I just sang on stage with Darius Rucker and he invited to make my Opry debut,” an excited Tristan said on the Opry’s Snap Chat. “I don’t know when it’s going to be. I still haven’t told my mom. I got to tell her.”

No date has been revealed for her Opry debut yet.

McIntosh quickly became a fan favorite during the final season of American Idol when she auditioned for the show. Singing Mickey Guyton’s “Why Baby Why,” the Nashville native impressed judges Keith Urban, Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick Jr. and was then surprised by her mom, who had been serving overseas.

Throughout the season, she performed songs from Rascal Flatts, Carrie Underwood and Vince Gill.

The final five American Idol contestants take the stage tomorrow night, along with a special performance from guest mentor Sia. Watch on FOX at 8/7c.
