Just as many citizens lined up to do the morning after the Las Vegas shooting, Dierks Bentley donated blood to help out the wounded victims just days later.

The American Red Cross issued out a need for extra blood donations following the massacre at the Route 91 Harvest Festival, in which Bentley contributed his small part just like thousands of charitable others did to save the lives of the innocent.

“First smile in two days thanks to being around other donors and great people @americanredcross #redcross @fiddlindan. I haven’t really been able to function at all since the shooting. such deep sorrow. sadness. heavy and dark. My relationship with country music fans, as well as my band and my crew’s relationship with them, is something we all cherish so deeply. some of those friendships have been forged for well over a decade. my heart breaks over and over again for all those fans in Las Vegas and their families,” Bentley captioned his post.

Bentley previously sent out his warm thoughts and prayers to all of those affected after receiving news that 59 people were killed and more than 500 were injured at the country music festival.

His post read, “Prayers for everyone in Las Vegas…our country music family of fans and friends. God bless all those hurting right now. At a total loss for words,” honoring those who needed extra support during such dark times.

The country community as a whole stood together after the devastating event, from Maren Morris releasing a peaceful song called “Dear Hate” to Vince Gill and Keith Urban performing at a candlelight vigil in Nashville on Monday night (Oct. 2) to remember the ones who died in the attack.

Those who want to aid the victims suffering from the Las Vegas shooting can head to the American Red Cross website to find blood donation centers or donate funds to ease medical costs.
