Dierks Bentley takes his career seriously, even when it comes to his life on the road.

Considering everyone that takes the time out of their typical lifestyle to pack on up for months at a time and travel all across the country, Bentley appreciates the dedication from every single person that tags along with him. From the crews to the openers to his management team, the country singer takes into account all of the hard work put in to give the fans what they came for and he strives to create an atmosphere that supports one another along the way.

“I think the attitude of the road is, you know, everyone’s equal. We’re out there trying to get a job done. Everyone’s important, and our time spent out there matters for all of us. All of us have family left behind that are making the sacrifice that we’re away from. That’s important that the day has value, so that we make that sacrifice worthwhile. But then these fans come out and spend money and time to be with us, so they’re valuable too. It’s just the thing of being present and really understanding the importance of the day out there. It’s not just another show. It’s that one day, that one show, and that one town. For me, I’m most comfortable on stage when not just the band…I live with the band, I fly with the band every show. When I’m on stage with those guys, if some of them have a bad day, I know about it. It’s an authentic situation when we’re onstage together. It’s a very real dynamic,” Bentley explained to Sounds Like Nashville and other media recently.

But it isn’t all work and no play for Bentley. While he does focus on getting the job done in a way that pleases the fans, he also likes to joke around a bit and make the time on tour into an everchanging adventure. Encouraging his friends whether it be side stage or after the show, Bentley just wants an open environment for everybody to get along with.

“I try to make it a fun vibe,” he revealed. “I try to pick people who I think are really hungry…who are really trying to live and die on that stage every night. But also, as important, they are grateful to be around. Every tour, just about have all been great people. There’s one or two I’m not having back out…especially Jon Pardi right now, and Cole, they’re just great guys. I’m their biggest cheerleaders.”

Bentley is currently out on his What The Hell Tour with Pardi and Cole Swindell throughout the summer. Dates and information are available on his website.
