Following up the massive success of his album, Black, which was inspired by his wife, Dierks Bentley decided to stay on his romantic roll by dedicating his next single, “Woman, Amen,” to her as well.

Looking to the love of his life as the central focus for his first single, Bentley wanted to say something powerful about his wife but also establish this commanding presence for what his next album on the horizon represents. Allowing the words written by Bentley and fellow songwriters Josh Kear and Ross Copperman to take hold of an audience with an uplifting spirit, the Arizona native knew this first send-out to radio would open up a world of possibilities for his anticipated year.

“My wife and our relationship has been the one constant element in my life over all the ups and downs of my career and personal life. Our journey together has made me the man I am today. I doubt my heart would even recognize the old me. This song addresses that in the most direct possible way. The personal gratitude expressed in the lyrics, mixed with a track that leans heavily on some bigger sounds, is the perfect way to introduce the album,” Bentley admitted of the song’s source of inspiration.

Although “Woman, Amen” wasn’t one of the many songs created during Bentley’s mountain retreat in Telluride, Colorado, the rural influences definitely shine bright in the fast-paced love song. Proclaiming his devotion toward his wife’s loyal love and fierce heart, the country singer embodies passion in his big choruses and faithful lyrics.

Opting for more of an earthy tone compared to his last album, Bentley just hopes The Mountain reflects his recent growth as well as his passion for the bluegrass motion and instrumental craft.

“Woman, Amen” is available to stream on digital platforms, and The Mountain is expected out later this year.
