Over the length of her career, Dolly Parton is collaborated with a number of artists from both inside and out of the country world. Ranging from Julio Iglesias to Queen Latifah and Kenny Rogers to Pentatonix, Parton has put her signature touch on many songs outside of her own. The Queen of Country will do that again when her collaboration with pop artist Kesha is released this August.

Appearing on Kesha’s upcoming third studio album, Rainbow, the two teamed up for a re-imagining of Parton’s classic “Old Flames Can’t Hold A Candle to You.” The track from Dolly, Dolly, Dolly took Parton to No.1 when she released it to country radio in 1980.

While some may question the unique collaboration, the concept may not be so far-fetched. Kesha’s mother, Rosemary Patricia “Sebe” Sebert, is actually a co-writer on the song. Kesha also record a solo acoustic version for her Deconstructed EP in 2013.

Parton isn’t the only act to appear on the upcoming project, as Eagles of Death Metal will contribute to two songs and The Dap-Kings Horns to one.
