Dolly Parton Loves ‘This Is Us’
This Is Us star Mandy Moore fangirled over Dolly Parton, who told her she loved the NBC drama.
She’s just like us! It turns out, country music’s most precious gem, Dolly Parton, is a fan of everyone’s new favorite show, NBC’s break-out hit This Is Us. The worldwide icon shared her admiration for the show to Mandy Moore, the actress that plays matriarch Rebecca Pearson.
Moore recalled her “mic drop moment” with Parton that happened at an Emmys pre-party when she stopped by The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon for a recent interview.
“We were at a pre-Emmy party and she was standing talking to Allison Janney and, I hate to name drop, but I worked with Allison. I was like ‘Hi Allison, so good to see you,’ and she’s like ‘hey Mandy, do you know Dolly?’” she shared of their first introduction. “I was so excited!”
As pleasantries were exchanged, Parton admitted to both Moore and Moore’s onscreen husband Milo Ventimiglia, that she was a fan of the show.
“Milo was standing next to me and she was like ‘you guys, I really like your show. I watch your show and it’s really great.’ I was like ‘I’m done, I’m done, that’s a wrap.”
“Dolly Parton stamp of approval. If Dolly likes it, I’m in,” added Fallon.
The exchange was one Moore and Ventimiglia won’t soon forget, even as praise for This Is Us continues each week. Fans can catch the Emmy-winning drama on Tuesdays at 9/8c on NBC.
