For more than 50 years, Dolly Parton has written songs that have illuminated the hearts and minds of her millions of listeners. Now, the singer/songwriter will take her tunes to the next level when she meshes music with movies and creates a slew of television films based on her songs.

In a partnership with her Dixie Pixie Productions and Warner Bros. Television, each of the eight films will highlight a Parton classic and air on Netflix in 2019.

“As a songwriter, I have always enjoyed telling stories through my music. I am thrilled to be bringing some of my favorite songs to life with Netflix,” she revealed on Twitter. “We hope our show will inspire and entertain families and folks of all generations, and I want to thank the good folks at Netflix and Warner Bros. TV for their incredible support.”

Not only will Parton’s music be front and center of the new films, but the singer has plans to appear in select episodes of the series.

The film series isn’t the first the Tennessee native has done with her music. She is currently wrapping production on the music for the upcoming film Dumplin’ and featured her life story as the center of the Coat of Many Colors film series, starring Jennifer Nettles.

No word yet on which eight songs will be featured.
