Dolly Parton’s ‘Coat of Many Colors’ Trailer Released

The trailer for Dolly Parton’s Coat of Many Colors has finally been released.

The movie will air on NBC on Thursday, Dec. 10 from 9-11 p.m. ET/PT and highlights Parton’s poverty-stricken childhood in the Smokey Mountains.

Filming the movie was especially tough for the actors, including Alyvia Alyn Lind, who plays young Parton. “The ups and downs in her family make it a very emotional role,” Lind told PEOPLE.

“Dolly told me I reminded her so much of her father,” actor Ricky Schroder expressed to the publication. “I was honored to play him. I wanted to get it right for Dolly because she’s just so kind and sweet and generous and she put so much trust in everybody to make this movie about her family.”

“I had an incredible time making this movie,” Jennifer Nettles added. “It’s such an incredible story.” Nettles plays Parton’s mother, Avie Lee Parton.
