Dolly Parton is leading the charge to help her beloved home of East Tennessee following the devastating wildfires that ravaged the area just weeks ago. The 70-year-old icon recently announced a telethon, the Smoky Mountains Rise: A Benefit for the My People Fund, and has enlisted several of her famous friends to take part.

Joining the three-hour telecast will be Chris Stapleton, Chris Young, Big & Rich, Michael W. Smith, Amy Grant, LOCASH, Chris Janson and Montgomery Gentry, with others to be announced in the coming days. All of the artists will be donating their time to the cause. Previously announced performers include Reba, Alison Krauss and Kenny Rogers.

The telethon will air on broadcast partners AXS TV, RFD and The Heartland Network, while USAToday.com and USA Today National Networks will live stream the telethon through their affiliate sites, including Tennessean.com, Knoxnews.com, commercialappeal.com, jacksonsun.com, theleafchronicle.com, dnj.com, and others. The telethon will also air on the Great American Country (GAC) network.

“I’m truly honored that these artists are giving their time and energy to help us raise money for everyone affected by the wildfires,” Parton said. “I’ve got so many great friends in the industry, and I’m so proud that they were so ready to step up and help me help my people in the Smoky Mountains through this telethon and the My People Fund.”

Parton’s My People Fund will provide $1000 each month to the families of Sevier County who lost their homes and belongings in the recent Smoky Mountain wildfires. Those affected can apply for help at dollywoodfoundation.org.

Viewers will be able to call 1-866-CARE MORE to donate to the foundation. Anyone who would like to make a tax-deductible donation can visit dollywoodfoundation.org for more information. Donations via mail can be sent to My People Fund, c/o Dollywood Foundation, 111 Dollywood Lane, Pigeon Forge, TN 37863.

The telethon will air on Tuesday, December 13, at 8 p.m. ET.
