Zac Brown Band Tour ‘Means The World’ To Drake White

Drake White and his band, The Big Fire, will be racking up the miles this summer when they hit the road with Zac Brown Band on the 2016 Black Out The Sun Tour.

The singer, who also toured with ZBB last fall, couldn’t be more thankful for the opportunity to get back on the road with the band.

“As you go out there and you do your thing, you want folks to accept you and you want validation as an artist. I think we struggle with validation every day,” White told Sounds Like Nashville. “You know, you go out there and you write your thing and it’s kind of like taking your clothes off and walking into a room of strangers and saying like, ‘Here’s what I got!’ So to have Zac ask me back…I’m very appreciative of him tippin’ his hat to me. It means the world to me.”

One of the most impressive things that the “Livin’ The Dream” singer has gotten to witness while on the road with the GRAMMY-winning group is the hard work and dedication that lead vocalist Zac Brown puts into his craft.

“Zac takes everything as an opportunity. It’s about that type of mindset. Do the things other people aren’t willing to do, to where you can live the lives that other people can’t live. For example, Zac works out after his show because he’s all amped up and ready to go, where somebody would go kill half a case of beer after a show,” he explained. “Zac goes and works out, then he starts writing and stays up til 3, 4, 5 in the morning. Because that’s when all the phones are off and that’s how he does it. So I’ve learned from him to push the boundaries of what people are willing to do.”

He also appreciates the killer-show he gets to watch every night while on tour.

“Their show, whether it be a musical moment, a vocal moment, or a moment to bring a soldier out, they create these moments that literally bring people to tears and that’s what a show’s about,” he shared. “That’s what I’ve learned—everything’s an opportunity, even if you don’t feel good or you go out there and people came out to see you and to have a feeling evoked from you, so go out there and sing a song the way it deserves to be sung every night and everything’s an opportunity.”
