All sports teach a number of important messages to athletes that can easily cross over into the groove of real life. As a fan of college football, Drake White lets the boys of fall influence how he handles his music career and the commitment he makes to his job.

As a member of the Crimson Tide fan community, White has definitely learned the keys to success through watching his favorite team over the years. Understanding how they continually rake in the wins year after year, the “Livin’ the Dream” singer definitely took some pointers from the college football team for his own personal success.

“Football has always symbolized hard work and dedication and a commitment to excellence. That’s the same thing that is on the top of my goal charts of my music. My band hears it all the time. When you commit to excellence, then you become better and you become healthier, because excellence runs all the way around from physical, mental, spiritual, and everything. We’ve committed to that and we’ve committed to being great. So watching Alabama football, it all starts with a great coach. And watching that coach do what he does and get a group of people motivated, like I learn a lot from that. It’s great to watch a team work like a well-oiled machine. That’s in business, that’s in football, that’s a family, that’s a marriage, that’s a good hunting dog that you’ve trained well. I mean life is about discipline and training and making the most out of what you’ve been given,” he said recently.

With college football back for the fall season and White gearing up for the autumn leg of the Somewhere on a Beach Tour with Dierks Bentley, White will be sure to keep watching his guys run the field as he runs the stage.
