For any artist, hearing your song on country radio for the first time is a moment they’ll never soon forget. For an artist that is just starting out their career, the moment can be life-changing and prove that you’re on the right track to achieving your dreams. Sometimes, however, you’re caught in the middle of chores with no one around to share in the moment with you… just like Drew Baldridge was.

“The very first time I was actually doing dishes. I know that sounds so stupid and terrible,” he told Sounds Like Nashville of hearing his debut single “Dance With Ya” on the radio.

The Illinois native was held up in his kitchen with Sirius XM’s The Highway on in the background when he heard the first few strums of the guitar hit.

“All of a sudden, [it was] ‘Dance With Ya,’ you know like the guitar,” he recalled. “I was like ‘oh my gosh!’ I was looking around the room and there was nobody home. My roommate wasn’t there, nobody there. I went over and I filmed it and I was like ‘I’m on, I’m on the radio! I’m on the TV!’ My hand’s shaking. You can see it shaking on the thing. It was so funny. I was screaming. Still got the video. It was great. It was a really special moment.”

Since then, Baldridge has heard his songs on the radio several times, but it never gets old.
