Disappointed is an understatement for how Dustin Lynch felt after getting the news that he had been shut out of the ACM nominations this year.

Unfortunately, his hard work in releasing an album he cared a lot about and earning some pretty solid radio success didn’t push Lynch above his country peers. The singer expressed his woes in a vulnerable Instagram post, in which fans get to see the real side of Lynch as he hears of his fate.

“Well, we successfully didn’t get nominated again. Career-changing song, I don’t get it. What am I missing, you know? I don’t get it,” Lynch ponders with sadness written all over his face.

Even talking to a couple buddies for guidance, Lynch can’t squash how upset he felt after not getting even a glance in the categories listed for the big awards show.

“Well, you know it changes nothing about today or how we go about it. Bummer, man. Worked freaking hard for this,” he says sorrowfully.

Although Lynch took the lack of nods rather harshly, he still accomplished a lot in the past year. His album, Current Mood, showed off brand new sides to the singer and opened his sound up to new possibilities. He hit the No. 1 spot with “Small Town Boy” and earned tons of traction with his latest single, “I’d Be Jealous Too.”

Lynch is on tour for the majority of the year, with plenty of dates lined up for spring. Fans can look online to find out more information about Lynch’s shows.
