Rather than stick to the traditional proposal, the fireman asked his girlfriend what she planned on doing the rest of her life as a way to ask for her hand in marriage.

You never know what’s in store at a Dustin Lynch show and he gave one couple the surprise of a lifetime when he opened up the stage to a lucky California firefighter in hopes of getting engaged.

Stopping the show in the middle of his set during a concert held in California, Lynch began his speech by honoring the first responders and firefighters putting in hard work day in and day out to make sure the devastating wildfires didn’t get in the way of harming his performance that night. Lynch even pulled out Tony Cresta from his meet-and-greet for a special introduction to the crowd that ended in pure bliss.

As Cresta approached the microphone, Lynch also invited the man’s girlfriend up for a surprise of a lifetime. The fireman began to talk about how great his life has been for the past three years and got down on one knee just like in every woman’s engagement fantasy. But instead of just asking for her hand in marriage, he sweetly proposed another question about her future plans.

“Will you make me the happiest man in the world and ask, ‘What are you doing the rest of your life,’” he asked as the audience awed.

Without any hesitation, Taylor accepted happily with a subtle nod and an emotional embrace as soon as Cresta finished his proposal. Making sure she truly said yes, Lynch let her clarify her positive response before telling her that she needed to slip the ring on her finger.

The couple continued to do a little dance on stage during Lynch’s next song in the set to celebrate their new relationship status.

Lynch will head back out on the road in 2018 with his first date set for January 25, 2018, in Los Angeles. More information about his upcoming concerts can be found on his official website.
