Dustin Lynch sports a cowboy hat and boots more often than not, but his new single, “I’d Be Jealous Too,” shows off his appreciation for other progressive sounds and genres.

The synthesized track drops a major beat reminiscent of a Top 40 tune with Lynch suavely bragging about how he got the girl everyone wants. Mentioning her desirable qualities in lyrics like, “She laughs like she just broke into a hotel pool / She loves deserts and the sunsets out in Malibu / If you felt the way it feels the way she looks at you / I’d be jealous too, I’d be jealous too,” Lynch definitely seems confident after winning over his girl.

Written by Lynch and pals Ross Copperman and Jon Nite, the upbeat track showcases a different side to Lynch than that on his previous records. While it encapsulates the same honest songwriting as previous hits, its pop-oriented hook lightens up another dimension of Lynch’s personality in a way that still sticks true to his identity in country music.

“Lyrically, it’s all been something I’ve been a part of whether it’s relationships, travel or adventures of some sort. I’ve been a part of it, lived it, know it, feel it, and I think that’s why it feels really cohesive as well,” Lynch said to Sounds Like Nashville of the songs he contributed to on his recently released album, Current Mood.

Although elements of a banjo and twangy guitar make their appearances, it’s the clap-happy club beat that truly drives the song into single material with a dance-worthy twist. Lynch experiments with that genre-bending line, and comes out successful with the head-bobbing jam.

“I’d Be Jealous Too” follows the success of Lynch’s previous chart topping singles, “Small Town Boy” and “Seein’ Red.”

Lynch will soon hit the road in November for his headlining The Ride or Die Tour. Fans can head over to his website to learn more about dates and ticket information.
