2016 has been an incredible year for Country newcomer Dylan Scott.

He kicked off the year by making his debut at the Grand Ole Opry, he then got married to his high school sweetheart early this summer, and recently released his self-titled debut album.

We caught up with Scott just before the album dropped, and he admitted that he was feeling some nerves, but also a lot of excitement when it came to releasing this body of work.

“There’s always a little nerves because you want to be accepted,” he shared. “I’ve been at Curb Records since I was 19 years old, so about six years now. We’ve been working on the album the whole time.”

The album features 13 tracks, seven of which the Louisiana native co-wrote. His favorite track, “My Girl,” is one he wrote about his new bride, Blair.

“I just decided to name it ‘My Girl’ and write about all the things that I get to see in my girl that nobody else gets to see.”

The song recently became Scott’s first Top 40 single, adding to the list of the reasons why 2016 couldn’t be better for the rising star.
