Eric Church stopped by the set of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in New York City on Monday to perform his latest single, “Kill a Word.”

Joined by Rhiannon Giddens from the Carolina Chocolate Drops, Church showcased what his new radio track is all about by giving the audience a steady performance of the song. “Kill a Word” is the follow-up song to Church’s hit, “Record Year,” which smashed the radio airwaves throughout the summer.

“Kill a Word” was written by Church, along with Jeff Hyde and Luke Dick and is featured on the country singer’s critically-acclaimed album, Mr. Misunderstood.

Church is having quite the year in his career as he recently was nominated for five CMA Awards, including Single of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year and Music Video of the Year. He also announced that he will be heading out on the road for a massive tour in 2017 called the Holdin’ My Own Tour. He’ll over 60 cities in the United States and play to crowds as a solo headliner with no opening acts.
