For this week’s episode of Eric Paslay’s Music Row Takeover, the country singer talks about the making of the music and how important it is to make the message of his music something that will resonate with the fans in a meaningful way.

Throughout the video series, premiering exclusively on Sounds Like Nashville, Paslay takes his truck for a spin around some of the streets and locations that have created his music career and developed him into the artist he is today. Discussing the behind-the-scenes portion of his songs, the “Friday Night” singer does a drive-by past the building he writes in and talks about the background on how he got to know his now-producer.

He also mentions how he used to have to drive to Nashville while going to college on the outskirts of town and how that time on the road back and forth helped him create some of his favorite music.

“When I was going to Middle Tennessee [State University], I got a lot of time to listen to music, which was awesome. You can’t help paint pictures that you’ve seen sometime in life. I think just those drives over the three-year period that I would drive back and forth before I actually moved to Nashville was great for that, just learning. Just learning by sitting and listening,” he explains in the clip.

Check out what else Paslay had to say about the back stories to his sound and how important his music is to his fans in this week’s video episode. Paslay is now promoting his current single, “Angels in this Town,” before the anticipated release of his sophomore album.
