As an up-and-coming country musician, Jacob Davis soaked in all he could as a kid to shape his musical future later on in life.

From his biggest influences he listened to while he grew up to when he finally decided to take the stage alongside his brother, Davis has utilized a number of things he learned from his childhood to develop what he wanted to do in music now. Taking hints from the best of the best, Davis allowed his favorite artists he was raised on to lead the way for what he aspired to be within his sound.

“Early music favorites were mostly country, 90s country. So it was Garth [Brooks] and Tim McGraw, a Louisiana boy. So country was huge. My dad was a huge Elvis fan, so that was always playing,” he revealed in the exclusive video clip.

Davis also admitted one of his regrets from growing up was not sticking with it on the piano lessons his mom forced him to take up. Although he said his dad allowed him to switch up the keys for that of a baseball bat and glove, he wishes he would have kept going to be versatile in his instrument performance space.

The country newcomer also spilled on what went on during his first-ever live performance that he put on, in which he enlisted the help of a couple special guests to tag along for the holiday ride.

“My first musical performance was my brother and I with my mom playing piano in church. My mom was in the middle of the bench, I was on the right side, my brother was on the left side and we were playing Christmas carols,” Davis remembered.

Davis is currently promoting his song, “What I Wanna Be,” which is available for streaming now.
