Faith Hill’s mother, Edna Perry, has passed away at the age of 80.

Perry, who adopted Hill from as an infant, was a resident of the small town of Star, Mississippi, where the country star was raised. She died in a hospital in nearby Jackson, Mississippi. She and husband Wesley L. Perry, or known as “Ted” to close friends and family, were married for 59 years.

Hill’s mother is survived by her daughter and husband Tim McGraw as well as her two sons, Wesley and Steve, and their families. Perry also leaves behind her sisters, Paula and Sara, as well as her brother, Pat.

A visitation was held for Perry on Monday, October 31, and funeral details are unknown at this time due to the memorial being private to close friends and family.

Back in 2007 during an interview with Good Housekeeping, Hill talked about her relationship with both of her parents and described it as having a “loving family life, if not typical.” While she always wanted a connection with her birth parents, Perry and her husband constantly encouraged Hill in her musical endeavors starting during her time spent at church.

Prayers and condolences go out to Hill and her family for their loss. For those who want to make a donation for the passing of Perry, her obituary lines out details on how to donate to renovate the Star Baptist Church Children’s Wing.
