With the end of the tour in sight, a father is asking Kenny Chesney to ‘Spread the Love’ in honor of his late son at his concert on Saturday night.

Al Briere and his family tragically lost their son, Joey, in a car accident five short years ago. While the passing shocked and saddened the family, they created The Joseph Briere Foundation as a way to fundraise for a number of important charities.

One of the events they host every year is a golf tournament, in which the family uses Chesney’s “Happy on the Hey Now,” as the defining song for the fundraiser. Not only does the family feel a tie to the country singer through that song, but Al Briere also feels a strong connection to the song “Who You’d Be Today” ever since the accident.

The Briere family is set to attend Chesney’s concert in Foxboro, Massachusetts on Saturday night and Al took to Facebook to ask for one little request: for Chesney to bust out one of those tunes to honor Joey.

Posted onto his personal page, Al simply asks of Chesney to consider playing one of these touching songs after talking a little bit about who their son was and why Chesney’s music means so much to their situation.

Hopefully, Chesney reads the simple request and shows how much he loves his No Shoes Nation during the show. For the family and fans’ sake, it would be an incredible gesture coming from a humbled country music star that would make the night one to remember forever.
