“That was a blast! Flo Rida’s really cool. He’s one of those guys…that you just feel like you grew up with them,” Brian Kelley told Sounds Like Nashville in a phone interview earlier today.

Every Monday, Jimmy Kimmel is bringing unlikely musical pairings together in his series #MashupMonday. In his latest installment, the late night talk show host combined Florida Georgia Line with Flo Rida to create the super group Flo Rida Georgia Line.

The newly formed group covered FGL’s diamond-certified “Cruise” and the rapper’s “My House.”

“That was a blast! Flo Rida’s really cool. He’s one of those guys… you meet people along the way, no matter what they look like, where they’re from, how they talk, that you just feel like you grew up with them,” Brian Kelley told Sounds Like Nashville in a phone interview earlier today. “You know, Nelly’s one of those people, Jake Owen is one of those people. Flo Rida, one of those people. It’s like you don’t skip a beat when you meet them. It’s like you’ve kind of known them.”

The mashup may not be the last we hear from Flo Rida Georgia Line… according to Kelley, there may be a bigger project in the future.

“We met earlier that day and I think it showed onstage that there’s true vibe there and hopefully we’re able to do something in the future,” Kelley added. “We were talking about future collaborations. We’re all excited about that. So hopefully we’ll get some days down in his studio, his compound, down in Miami.”

In the meantime, Kelley and the other half of FGL, Tyler Hubbard, are currently busy in rehearsals for their Dig Your Roots Tour, kicking off this Thursday, May 12 at the BancorpSouth Arena in Tulepo, MS. Special guests include Cole Swindell, The Cadillac Three and Kane Brown.
