For months, Florida Georgia Line has been teasing their new music and getting fans fired up for the next chapter of their career.

It wasn’t until the duo, made up of Brian Kelley and Tyler Hubbard, sat down with Country Countdown USA’s Lon Helton that they dished on the title of their upcoming record.

“The album will be called ‘Dig Your Roots,’ so we named the tour that,” said FGL. “It’s a song we wrote last year, and we love that song, it represents the album as a whole, where we’re at, where we’re headed.  It feels good, it’s more mature, and we don’t want to make the same album. The songs are better.  They’re deeper.”

Fans will also be interested to know that Kelley’s voice is put on display in quite a few songs on Dig Your Roots.

“And I should point out that BK has more lead vocals on this album, which is different from the last albums as well,” Hubbard teased. “He’s singing the whole song on three songs on the album.  It’s been great to grow together as singers and vocalists, BK sings lead, I sing harmony, we’re excited.  It’s gonna be cool to do live.”

Not only does BK step out as the lead man on some of the tracks, but one of them includes a collaboration with a fellow country superstar.

“We’ve got a little news, a collaboration with Mr. Tim McGraw on our new album.  We’re super excited. It sounds amazing, the song is a huge anthem. It’s 100% dream come true to have a song with him, doesn’t sound like anything else on the radio right now,” they teased. “We got some hang time with him at the ACMs, and it happened quick, he loved the song, and wanted to put his voice on it.”

Although they wouldn’t reveal the name of the song, Kelley did reveal that it sounds like a mix of their previous work. “It’s kind of like ‘Round Here’ meets ‘Dirt.’  How ’bout that?”

The duo expects the album to drop in August.

FGL’s Dig Your Roots Tour kicks off May 12 at the BancorpSouth Arena in Tulepo, MS. Special guests include Cole Swindell, The Cadillac Three and Kane Brown.
