Chris Young is a self-proclaimed Christmas junkie. For years, he’s shared his love of the holiday with his fans by showing off pictures of his outdoor decorations, as well as snaps of his Christmas trees. But his love for the holiday didn’t come from just anywhere… it’s been ingrained in him since he was a kid from some of the family traditions he still takes part in today.

“We always decorate the tree as a family,” Young told Sounds Like Nashville of his family’s traditions. “I go to my parent’s house and we always decorate their tree together. Always.”

The yearly tree trimming has officially taken place for the Youngs, as the singer shared a photo of their labor.
“There’s the finished product!! (The tree at my parents house) 🎄🎄🎄 #ItMustBeChristmas,” he wrote with a snap on Instagram.

The family togetherness didn’t just start with the tree, however, as Young also shared a video of his dad at the tree lot, proclaiming that the tree was just perfect.

Along with the decorations, his family also loves to partake in some very special family recipes in order for the holidays to truly feel like the holidays.

“A Christmas dish I have to have… my grandmother made these for a long time, she still does for Thanksgiving, but my mom makes her recipe, they do cheese biscuits, which is basically just butter and cheese and biscuit dough. All the things that are bad for you, but just absolutely amazing,” he explained with a laugh.

Young will have a nice break to spend time with family when he wraps up his 2016 touring schedule with shows on Dec. 15 in Cedar Park, TX and Dec. 16 in Thackerville, OK.

His debut Christmas album, It Must Be Christmas, is available in stores and online now.
