It’s official – Garth Brooks is the 50th annual CMA Awards’ Entertainer of the Year!

Presented by two-time CMA Entertainer of the Year and former country superstar Taylor Swift, Brooks took home the title tonight as the awards aired live on ABC from Nashville’s Bridgestone Arena. He has had a stellar year with his wildly-successful The Garth Brooks Tour with Trisha Yearwood, in which he lovingly thanked for being “the coolest tour mate.”

“I want to thank God for this. I want to thank the CMAs. Very, very sweet. Thank you for a wonderful run. I can’t do it without the people, you gotta treat the people. Thank you so much for showing up to this tour,” they said. “We are so damn lucky to be a part of this thing called country music.”

This marks Brooks’ fifth career CMA Entertainer of the Year win.

Brooks beat out fellow nominees Luke Bryan, Carrie Underwood, Chris Stapleton and Keith Urban for the night’s top honor.

The 50th Annual CMA Awards are hosted by Underwood and Brad Paisley. See everything that went down during tonight’s show HERE.
