After surprising a newly engaged couple by paying for their honeymoon and helping another couple reveal the gender of their unborn child, Garth Brooks had another huge surprise at one of his shows, but this time, it was a little more personal.

At the Los Angeles Forum on July 28, Brooks’ youngest daughter Allie was celebrating her 21st birthday when her boyfriend Jonathan Roberts dropped to one knee to ask for her hand in marriage. The proposal was captured on video, later posted to Robert’s Facebook page, and showcased Allie’s overwhelming reaction.

“Wow!! LA was incredible. It’s definitely gonna be one to remember from 2 amazing concerts to jet skiing 40 miles up and down the coast.  We Celebrated Allie Brooks birthday!! Also she said YES!!!! I’m beyond blessed to have this beautiful woman in my life,” wrote Roberts on Facebook. “She’s anything but typical. She’s so unpredictable.”

At the time, Brooks was onstage performing “She’s Every Woman,” a song Allie covered in a video posted in January, which has since garnered over 320,000 views. It’s unknown whether the timing of the proposal was planned to coincide with the song, though Roberts’ status quotes a line from the track.

The proposal wasn’t the only surprise for the singer/songwriter as her proud dad called her out during the show to sing “Happy Birthday” with help from the packed arena.

Garth Brooks will wrap his three year world tour at the end of 2017 and has teased plans that he’ll soon head abroad for a run of shows in Europe.
