Garth Brooks’ Half-Sister, Betsy Smittle, Passes Away at Age 60
Betsy Smittle, musician, vocalist, and half-sister of Garth Brooks, died on Saturday (11/2), reports KWTV. Smittle, who was 60 years old at the time of her death, was also a member of Brooks’ band for several years. Her solo album, Rough Around the Edges, was released in 1994.
Smittle was also a gay rights activist who performed and participated at several gay pride events in and around Oklahoma.
A cause of death has not yet been determined. Funeral arrangements are pending.
