Garth Brooks has been travelling the world for the past three years selling out show after show with The Garth Brooks World Tour with Trisha Yearwood. Whether fans did not get a chance to see the CMA Entertainer of the Year or they just want to relive the magical experience of his live show, they are in luck. The best-selling solo artist in the United States announced plans for an up-to-date live album.

Brooks revealed during one of his Lafayette, Louisiana shows at the Cajundome that he was recording parts of the show for a live record. There are no formal announcements with details about the project, but his onstage announcement gives fans hope that they will know more soon.

Brooks previously hinted at the live album during his “Studio G” Facebook Live session on June 5, mentioning that he was going to bring a surprise down with him.

“Get your singing voices ready, because it could be for forever,” Brooks hinted. “This is going to be crazy two weekends, and I promise you will hear that weekend again and again and again, long after the weekend is over.”

Brooks has fond memories of tour stops in Louisiana, which might explain why he chose to record for the live album there. On the “Studio G” show, he recalled his early days where the only thing he and his crew could afford to eat were the delicious pralines that Louisianans graciously provided to them.

“It was people who would put you up in their house when you couldn’t afford hotels. This is where it kind of all started for us,” Brooks recalled.

In 1998, Brooks released Double Live, a two-disc set that includes performances from multiple tour stops between 1996 and 1998. Double Live has been certified 21 times platinum and is the best-selling live album of all time. Since then, Brooks has released Man Against Machine and Gunslinger, so he has plenty of new live tunes to add.

Brooks recently announced a tour stop Atlanta, Georgia, where he will be the very first concert hosted in the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
