Garth Brooks will celebrate the launch of his new SiriusXM channel with a special invitation-only concert for XM listeners at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium. The show will be held on September 8 and marks Brooks’ first time playing “The Mother Church of Country Music.”

“Just the thought of playing the Ryman is crazy,” said Brooks (quote via SiriusXM). “The fact that SiriusXM is going to capture the evening makes it even a bigger event for me.”

For fans unable to attend the concert, the entire show will air on The Garth Channel (CH. 55), through the SiriusXM app and the online player at siriusxm.com. SiriusXM subscribers who have had an account since July 11 will have the opportunity to enter to win tickets to the private concert beginning Thursday, July 28.

Brooks announced his new venture in early July. The channel will feature music curated by the superstar himself and will include music from his four-decade career.

“I want this to be the home of kindness, to be the home of love, just like a concert. I want to take you on a roller coaster ride. I’m gonna play music,” he said when the channel was announced. “Hopefully the next song is going to surprise you and the song after that’s going to surprise you. We’re going to start out slow, just focus on the music, start listening to the voices that are listening to it and let them kind of sculpt where we go. So we want to build and we just want to do our thing.”
