Gwen Stefani Admits to Not Knowing of Blake Shelton Before ‘The Voice’

During a recent appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Gwen Stefani sat down with the talk show host to talk about her newly-divorced life and team on The Voice.

As part of the interview, DeGeneres couldn’t help herself but try to get some scoop on the singer and her budding relationship with fellow Voice coach, Blake Shelton.

“I’m in a good place. I’m having a lot of fun,” Stefani said. “It’s like a whole new life, a whole new chapter. It’s been so great to be on The Voice and be around all that music.”

She even admitted to not knowing who the Oklahoma native was. “I didn’t even know who he was before I was on the show,” she shared. “Before I was on The Voice I had never heard of him before. I didn’t, I hadn’t. I’m an O.C. girl, what would I know?”

The two have been getting cozy following their divorces from their spouses. Shelton divorced Miranda Lambert after 4 years of marriage, while Stefani divorced husband Gavin Rossdale after 13 years and three kids.

A rep for Stefani recently confirmed the new relationship on Nov. 4, saying “Gwen and Blake are longtime friends who have very recently started dating.”
