Hillary Scott To Release Gospel Album With Family

Earlier this year, Lady Antebellum announced that they’d be taking an indefinite hiatus following the conclusion of their Wheels Up Tour. Shortly after, Charles Kelley revealed that he was working on a solo project, but it appears he’s not the only one working on new music.

Hillary Scott has been teasing photos on Instagram about a secret project she’s been working on and we finally have an inkling of what it is.

In an interview with The Tennessean, Scott’s mother, Linda Davis, announced that the family has recorded a gospel album together.

“As parents, it’s so fun to be able to be involved in a project with both of our children,” Davis told the publication. “It’s a dream we didn’t even know to dream about that’s fallen into place.”

The project is being produced by Ricky Skaggs and even features Scott’s younger sister, Rylee. The inspiration for the album came after the family performed together at Jim Ed Brown’s funeral.

“He was about family harmonies and his family wanted us to be a part of that,” Davis said of Brown. “Ever since Hillary was a little girl, (family harmony) is all she’s known as well as Rylee Jean, our youngest daughter.”

The project will feature traditional hymns, as well as original material.

“It’s sort of a nice combination of past, current and maybe what will last long after we’re gone,” Davis said. “That’s our hope.”

Fans can expect the project to be released early next year.
