Scoop: New ‘Hometown Rising’ Festival Announced for 2019 Debut

Danny Wimmer Presents is known for putting on some killer fests in Louisville, KY. From their annual whiskey and music celebration Bourbon & Beyond, to their rager of a rock fest Louder Than Life, the folks at DWP know how to throw a bash. Popular with out-of-towners, the concert series have drawn tens of thousand of visitors to Louisville each year, filling hotels and on-site campgrounds with music lovers. (Unfortunately, an epic downpour of rain forced the cancellation of the second day of Bourbon & Beyond this past September, and Louder Than Life was a total washout the following week, forcing organizers to refund all tickets.)

Recently DWP announced a triumphant new event–a huge country music festival called Hometown Rising slated for September 14-15 at Louisville Champions Park.

And despite last year’s weather issues, DWP remains committed to all three festivals for 2019, filling the September concert calendar with music and booze all month long. Plans include expanding Bourbon & Beyond to three days and kicking off the first year of Hometown Rising with national country music headliners taking the stage (to be announced at a later date).

So mark your calendar for next September and pray for drier weather!
