The stars are lining up to honor the late, great Merle Haggard with a special concert event, Sing Me Back Home: The Music Of Merle Haggard. Taking place on Thursday, April 6, on what would’ve been Haggard’s 80th birthday, Rodney Crowell, Buddy Miller, Jake Owen, Aaron Lewis, Tanya Tucker and Chris Janson are among the newly-announced stars slated to take the stage to honor the legendary act who passed away just one year ago.

“I am so very thankful for this tribute to my husband, Merle Haggard.  Please come join me and my family at this fantastic show that Merle would be so proud of,” said Theresa Haggard, Merle’s widow.

“I am honored to produce a show that celebrates the life and music of Merle Haggard,” added one of the show’s executive producers, Keith Wortman. “His music and lyrics continue to shape the lives of musicians and millions of fans. I can’t think of any better way to celebrate his 80th birthday than to honor his legacy with this extraordinary event. It’s going to be an unforgettable evening.”

Haggard passed away in 2016 on his 79th birthday, after being diagnosed with double pneumonia. His son Ben revealed that Haggard had predicted that he’d pass on his birthday just a week prior. “A week ago dad told us he was gonna pass on his birthday, and he wasn’t wrong,” Ben said at the time. “He loved everything about life and he loved that everyone of you gave him a chance with his music. He wasn’t just a country singer. He was the best country singer that ever lived.”

Tickets for An All-Star Concert Celebration Sing Me Back Home: The Music of Merle Haggard are on sale now. A portion of the proceeds from the concert will benefit the T.J. Martell Foundation.
