While Jake Owen was (hopefully) wearing his helmet, that didn’t stop his arm from getting scratched up good as he ended up in the emergency room after a horrible bike accident.

Early Thursday morning (May 26), Owen took to Twitter to let his fans know that he was headed to the hospital for reasons unknown. Although he didn’t reveal why he was on his way to the ER at that moment in time, he reassured his followers that he would definitely be at his show in Herrin, Illinois.

Owen updated all worried fans hours later by tweeting that he was all right and ready for the show with the hashtag, #iwreckedmybike. To pour a little more salt in the wound, he even shared a snapshot to his timeline of the gnarly injury for which he admitted he received a few stitches.

“After stitches… Sometimes in life, you fall. That’s when you get back up again, and walk it off,” Owen tweeted along with the graphic photo.

No stranger to injuries, Owen broke his collarbone in 2012 in a snowboarding accident. Prior to his career in country music, the “American Country Love Song” singer wrecked his shoulder bad enough to keep him from playing golf professionally. Most famously though is when he critically broke his right ring finger during a go-kart session in 2013, resulting in amputation of part of the finger.

Although his brief accident seems like a bad note, Owen is having a great week after recently announcing the title of his brand new album, American Love. He is also on the lineup for the 26th Annual City of Hope Celebrity Softball Game, held on June 7 at the First Tennessee Park in Nashville. He’s also got a summer of touring lined up, including opening up CMA Music Festival on the Riverfront Stage on June 9.

American Love will be released on July 29.
