On Friday, Country hitmaker Jake Owen will release his brand new album, American Love. The record covers a number of things involving the Florida native’s life, including topics from his recent divorce to his new outlook on life. While the release is still a few days away, Owen couldn’t be more thrilled to share this project with fans.

“I had a really kind of whirlwind, roller coaster of a year last year on a lot of levels. Personally, obviously I went through a lot,” Owen told Sounds Like Nashville. “And so it’s pretty exciting to be here now and be ready to kind of roll out with it.”

While fans should expect several songs about the dissolution of his marriage, he assures fans that it’s not a melancholy collection of songs.

“Did I want to make a complete album based upon that? No, and I don’t think anyone wants to listen to a whole record of sad songs, but there’s a few on there that are kind of in line with that. Songs like ‘When You Love Someone,’” he explained. “I don’t think that I dwelled too long in that sense of sadness or disappointment. I wanted people to know that when my new record came out, it was time to have a good time.”
