Jamie Lynn Spears Appears on ‘TODAY,’ Releases Sneak Peek of TLC Special

This Sunday, fans around the world will get to know a whole new side to Jamie Lynn Spears. The budding country star will share her life story with a one-hour special on TLC called Jamie Lynn Spears: When The Lights Go Out.

Prior to the airing of the show, Spears made a special appearance on the TODAY Show to talk about why she chose to document her life and share it with the world.

“The world met me as a young girl. But after I had my little girl, I knew that I needed to take time away,” she explained. “I want to introduce myself to the world as the adult that I am.”

Coinciding with her TV appearance was the release of a sneak peek that show’s Spears sitting down with her dad Jamie and business manager, Lou Taylor, to talk about her upcoming performance at the Grand Ole Opry.

Jamie Lynn Spears: When The Lights Go Out will give fans a look into Spears’ life after learning she was pregnant at age 16 and walking away from her hit Nickelodeon Show, Zoey 101, in order to raise her daughter. The one-hour special premieres on TLC on Sunday, June 26 at 10/9c.
