Jamie Lynn Spears’ daughter Maddie is officially heading home to continue recovering from last Sunday’s horrific ATV accident that left her unconscious and hospitalized for several days.

Upon leaving the hospital with Maddie on Friday (Feb. 10), the singer/songwriter took to Instagram to thank the first responders and medical staff who took care of her baby girl. She also shared kind words for friends, family and fans who had been praying for Maddie since the incident.

“Thanks to the amazing first responders, and medical teams at University and Children’s Hospital in New Orleans, LA, we are headed home with our baby girl as she continues to recover,” Spears wrote. “Above all else we are so thankful for each and every prayer, because we know that is what truly made the difference. Thank you again to everyone. We are truly blessed.”

She also shared a photo of herself and Maddie inside the hospital’s helicopter, presumably the one that airlifted Maddie to the hospital after the accident.

The incident occurred Sunday afternoon when Maddie, 8, was driving on her family’s property in an ATV. She reportedly swerved in order to avoid a drainage ditch, and in doing so, she over-corrected and flipped into a pond. According to reports, Maddie was submerged for minutes while Jamie Lynn and her step-father Jamie Watson frantically tried to free her from her seat belt. She was airlifted to the hospital and regained consciousness mid-day Tuesday.
