Jana Kramer has seen her share of struggles, but the singer seems optimistic about what lies ahead for her career and her family life.

Balancing the life of a famous country singer and being a dedicated mother to her little girl, Kramer understands the difficulty that comes with keeping her professional and personal lives on track. She even feels that pain in her stomach, known commonly as mommy guilt, when she kisses her daughter goodbye in order to head to work.

“It’s definitely tough but it’s, ‘No, Mommy has to go.’ I’m still trying to find my identity with being a mom but also wanting a career and doing the things I need to do for me and for her. It’s tough. I constantly deal with the mom shame,” she admitted to People.

Nevertheless, Kramer finds herself dreaming of the day that her family grows in size whenever the time comes. Hoping for a healthy process, the “Circles” singer continues to plan for that moment when it finally arises for her and her husband, Michael Caussin.

“I definitely want to expand the family. It’s just in God’s timing. [I] had kind of a rocky road with that,” Kramer revealed.

Staying grounded and connected to other women who go through similar ordeals though, Kramer also hopes to inspire and relate to people everywhere by disclosing stuff going on behind the curtain.

“I’m really going to be an open book with it, talking about personal life,” the singer said. “Talking about hot topics in the news and just being an open canvas for things.”

Kramer’s most recent single, “Dammit,” is available now.
