Chicago’s Country LakeShake ended with a bang Sunday night (6/19) with Jason Aldean closing out the three-day festival. This year’s ACM Entertainer of the Year kicked off his high-energy set with his smash-hit “Just Gettin’ Started.”

“I can already tell it’s going to be a good night,” said Aldean at the start of his set, adding that he knew people came to hear music and raise some hell. His show was complete with his numerous hits from throughout his career, including “Take A Little Ride,” “When She Says Baby,” “Night Train” and “Big Green Tractor.”

His set was preceded with a performance from iconic duo Brooks & Dunn, who amped up the audience for the second night in a row. The two played songs ranging from “Brand New Man” to “Red Dirt Road” to “Play Something Country.” The duo’s Kix Brooks even busted out his harmonica for “Mama Don’t Get Dressed Up For Nothing.”

One of the highlights of the evening was Thomas Rhett’s set, which had everyone up and dancing.  The rising superstar showcased what makes him popular with country fans with songs like “Make Me Wanna” and “T-Shirt.” Giving Rhett a run for his money was Chris Janson, who had fans in the palm of his hand. Janson asked if the audience wanted to see 135-pounds of skinny white boy play the hell of the harmonica, and made sure to deliver.

Day 3 of the Country LakeShake was also all about the ladies. On the Next from Nashville stage was some of country music’s brightest new female acts, including Clare Dunn, Tara Thompson, Brooke Eden and Runaway June. The women showed country fans exactly what radio has been missing out on… a female voice.
