Although Jason Aldean pursues music for the passion of it all, he ultimately hopes to give back to his own community as much as he can and his second year of playing the Concert for the Kids is just one simple way he follows through.

Set in his hometown of Macon, Georgia, Aldean knew he always wanted to show appreciation for his Southern upbringing by supporting his town in whatever way he could. The country singer thought about putting his loves of music and charity together to host this special show, and he feels honored to head home for a good cause.

“It was more of a smaller scale and we raised about a half a million dollars for the hospital there. I’m excited to go back. Obviously, it’s my hometown and I want to try to do something for my hometown, sort of give back to where I came from,” Aldean told Sounds Like Nashville and other media about the show.

As a father of two girls and having a little boy on the way with his wife, Brittany, Aldean wanted to reach out to the children’s hospital that he holds dear to his heart. Trying to sympathize with the strong parents who stand behind their children when they become patients, Aldean just wants to lend them a hand to ease the stress and tensions of a situation so devastating in his mind.

“What better way to do that than with kids,” said Aldean. “I’ve got two kids and one on the way. I get it. I would be devastated if something happened to one of my kids. I can’t imagine what parents go through when stuff like that happens. I can’t think of a better thing to give to and try to support than a children’s hospital. If I’m going to do it, I want to do it in my hometown….We’re doing it at the Macon Coliseum. That’s where I saw my first concert, which was Kenny Rogers back in the day. To go back and get to play that is going to be pretty neat, and doing it for the hometown is going to be fun.”

The Concert for the Kids will be held in Macon, Georgia, on August 11 at the Macon Coliseum. Tickets are available for purchase HERE.
