Jason Aldean Shares His Favorite Summer Memories
Splitting his time between sports and the beach, Aldean reminisces on the simpler times of summer now that he's always out on the road.
Before Jason Aldean made it big in country music and started touring amphitheaters during the warmer months, he used to enjoy the summer simplicity just as many kids growing up do.
The country singer was quite the athlete before trading in sports for music. But now and then, Aldean reminisces on the hot days he would pick up a bat and run the bases to play ball. He also split his time up between his parents, and would practically live at the beach whenever he visited his father down in Florida. Nevertheless, the memories feel sweet for Aldean as he looks back on those good times.
“I always played baseball in the summertime, so I spent a lot of summers doing that,” Aldean explained to Sounds Like Nashville and other media recently. “My parents are divorced, so I lived with my dad in the summer. I’d go down to Florida and he lived a few miles from the beach. I basically spent every summer of my life at the beach about four days a week.”
Although he keeps rather busy with recording and business endeavors throughout the entirety of the year, Aldean always carves out a good chunk of time from his schedule to head back down to his Florida hideaway to spend quality time with his family in the sand.
“Even now, I have a house in Florida. When summertime rolls around and it starts getting warm, I pack up and go live in Florida for a couple months. That’s summer to me. It’s sitting on the beach, drinking a few beers, eating some oysters, having family coming to town to hang out and vacation for a week or so. To me, that’s summer. Now it’s amphitheaters too, that’s summer. It’s become summer,” he explained.
