Jason Aldean Is ‘Always Up For’ An Acting Gig
Several country stars, including Tim McGraw, Dwight Yoakam, Reba, and Trace Adkins, have been quite successful at expanding their careers into the field of acting. Now that’s he’s reached superstar status, will Jason Aldean to the same? The Georgia native, who took a small part in the film “Sweetwater” in 2013, is definitely open to the idea.
He had a chance to dip his toes in the water with his latest video for “Tonight Looks Good On You,” where he played the role of a factory worker who offers to cover his co-worker’s shift so he can leave work to go on a date with his lady friend.
While Aldean normally doesn’t act in his videos, he had a few close-ups in this one. “I don’t know I would call what I did in the ‘Tonight Looks Good On You’ video ‘acting’, but I guess I follow direction pretty well,” he shares with ABC Radio. “It was fun! It was fun to kind of step away from what I normally do in a video.”
He is, however, interested in more dramatic roles if the right opportunities come along.
“As far as any major acting goes, we’ll sort of see what comes down the pipeline, but it’s definitely something I’m always up for,” Jason says.
Until then, fans can catch Aldean doing what he does best: performing to sold-out crowds.
