There’s nothing like the first time, so Jason Aldean took his new baby (song baby, that is) to the set of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon for a performance of “You Make It Easy.”

Slowing things down a notch from his typical upbeat party songs, Aldean took a note out of the sexy book to bring a slow waltz-like jam to the stage. He crooned to the crowd all about the love of his life without a guitar in hand to bring back the basics of a lovely groove.

Although he didn’t sit down to talk to Fallon about the new song, Aldean went on the record to say his upcoming project, dubbed as Rearview Town, will reminisce on the good times he had as a kid and those prolific moments that influenced how he produces country music as an adult.

“Growing up in Macon, Georgia, I had a chance to learn about so many different styles of music. Looking back on first playing in bands as a teenager, I was just soaking everything up. A lot of that comes out on this record…where I’ve been, and who I am now,” Aldean said about his new music.

Aldean also stopped by Today to perform something for the early morning talk show the following day to great applause from the hosts.

“You Make It Easy” will be a part of Jason Aldean’s eighth studio album, Rearview Town, which is due out on Friday, April 13.
