Jennifer Nettles Is a Proud Mom To Son Magnus

From first words to first steps to first days of school, every mother lives for the small and special moments. Jennifer Nettles is no different; her three-year-old son, Magnus, makes her proud every day.

While recently promoting her new single, “Unlove You,” Nettles was over the moon when it came to talking about her little boy’s developments in childhood. So far for him (and her), growing up hasn’t been too hard to do.

“He is in a super developmental explosion of language right now,” she explained. “He’s just now really getting to be able to express himself in sentences. And different kids, you know, develop along different spectrums.”

Even when he was a tiny infant, Nettles was fully in tune with her motherly instincts and loved every single second of the childhood exploration. Now that he can talk, Nettles just wants to hang on to all the words he learns and says.

“It is super life giving to me and I find I want to celebrate everything, well like, ‘He just said instrument, this is…animal, he said animal!’ All of these words that have been in his head for so long that are just now suddenly like coming out all at one time. It’s really fun to get to experience,” said Nettles.

She even is starting to be able to pick apart his personality and gets to know her son deeper through the help of his verbal language skills, making him into the little person he’s slowly growing to be.

“He’s a little bit introverted, but then when he opens up like any other kid, he’s runnin’ around and havin’ fun and it’s fun to see the areas then and the situations in which he actually becomes more extroverted and the things that bring out his personality.”
