Jennifer Nettles to Release Christmas Album

Jennifer Nettles will be taking on the holidays with a brand new Christmas album this year! The singer confirmed the news after a fan tweeted that the project was coming.

“So… @DollyParton just said @JenniferNettles is doing a Christmas album this year… Please let there be a duet!!! #ILoveChristmas,” wrote the fan after watching Parton’s Pure & Simple live chat.

The host of CMA Country Christmas replied back saying, “I am doing a Christmas album!  And I love that @DollyParton is sharing the love!! She is my ❤!!”

Parton opened up about Nettles’ project (and confirmed that she’d be releasing a Christmas album of her own next year) during a Facebook live video chat.

“I did a Christmas album years and years and years ago,” shared Parton. “But I am going to do a new one that’s going to include things from the new Christmas movie, ‘Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love.’ There’s a song called Circle of Love and I think Jennifer Nettles is also including that song in her new Christmas album that’s coming out this year. I will have it in the one that comes out next year.”

The dynamic duo have gotten close over the last several years as Nettles recently starred in a movie about Dolly’s childhood, Dolly Parton: Coat of Many Colors, where she played Parton’s mother Avie Lee Parton. She will reprise her role this winter when the sequel, Dolly Parton’s Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love, debuts.

Nettles isn’t the only country artist gearing up to release a Christmas album. She joins the previously announced albums from Brett Eldredge, Chris Young, Garth Brooks, Kacey Musgraves, Rascal Flatts and Reba.
