Jimmy Buffett & Friends Concert Rescheduled for July 11

The Jimmy Buffett & Friends Concert scheduled for Thursday July 1 in Gulf Shores, Alabama has been rescheduled for Sunday July 11th. Organizers announced today that the concert was rescheduled due to concerns about Tropical Storm Alex. The storm poses no threat to the gulf coast, but organizers fear that the surf conditions could possibly make the stage unstable. All 35,000 tickets to the free concert were gone within minutes on Ticketmaster; they will all be honored on July 11.

“This is a disappointment, obviously, but Jimmy Buffett is still coming to the Gulf Coast on July 11, and tickets will be honored at that time,” said Mayor Robert Craft.

Buffett said, “Nobody hates this more than I do, but I guess, as the song says, it’s hard to reason with hurricane season. For those going anyway, thank you. … For the rest of you, we will see you July 11.”

A portion of the concert was set to broadcast live on CMT on July 1st. The network is still trying to determine if it will be able to air the concert on the new, rescheduled date.

The lineup for the free concert includes Buffett, Kenny Chesney, Zac Brown Band, and more.
