Known as one to not back away from the traditional elements that defined Nashville’s country music decades ago, Jon Pardi revives the good ol’ days of the format with his heartbreaking tune, “She Ain’t In It.”

Pardi faces the burdens of breakups by trying to avoid his former lover in any way he can. Claiming he’ll do anything to shy away from the pain, the country singer hopes his ex is nowhere to be seen in his escape from the heartache.

Although Pardi only contributed producing credits on his latest single alongside Bart Butler, the Clint Daniels and Wynn Varble-penned song comes to a real yet sad life through Pardi’s twangy vocal range. Lyrics like “I can drink and I can dance, I can party, I can laugh / but no matter how you spin it / everything has changed my life won’t be the same / as long as she ain’t in it,” make any listener sympathetic toward Pardi’s relatable sorrow.

“She Ain’t In It” holds its own as Pardi’s fourth single from his record, California Sunrise. It follows up the No. 1 successes of radio hits such as the romantic “Head Over Boots,” the rowdy “Dirt On My Boots” and his most recent chart-topper, “Heartache on the Dance Floor.”

As a cherry on top of an already successful year for Pardi, the California native earned a pair of nominations for the upcoming 51st Annual CMA Awards. He’s up for New Artist of the Year and Single of the Year for “Dirt On My Boots” during “Country Music’s Biggest Night,” airing live from Nashville on Wednesday, November 8.

Currently, Pardi is gearing up to kick off his Lucky Tonight Tour with opening guests Midland and Runaway June. The tour begins Thursday, October 12, and runs throughout the beginning of December. Fans can find more information and tickets on Pardi’s website.
