Kane Brown Proposed to His Fiancée While Watching a Scary Movie
Brown did admit that the moment was rather “weird,” but told People that he “just couldn’t wait” for the perfect time.
Kane Brown didn’t stick to the dream proposal when he decided to ask his girlfriend, Katelyn Jae, to marry him. In fact, he ditched the whole getting on one knee tradition for a casual question and answer during a movie night date.
Although Brown originally planned an entire romantic set-up with roses and the whole nine yards, the anticipation and love swept him off his feet enough to ask Jae for her hand in marriage while they were watching a scary movie together. Consequently enough, the movie choice was The Amityville Horror, in which the plot revolves around newlyweds moving into a house where a previous murder took place.
The singer did admit that the moment was rather “weird,” but he told People that he “just couldn’t wait” for the perfect time and spontaneously went with his heart. Thankfully, Jae said yes with no doubts in her mind no matter what was playing in the background.
For the meantime, Brown stayed quite hush-hush about their upcoming nuptials but shared that they’re looking toward a wedding in fall of 2018 due to his busy touring schedule next year. Nevertheless, the couple doesn’t feel the need to rush as they already established their home base by living together with their dog.
“Basically we’re already married. We just need the paperwork,” he revealed.
Brown and Jae announced they were planning to get married back at the end of April in 2017 while he was playing a show in her hometown of Philadelphia.
