When Keith Urban wins, he wins big.
The country crooner attended the American Music Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday night (Nov. 19) with his lovely wife, Nicole Kidman, and came out victorious as one of the top winners of the evening. Urban took home trophies for Favorite Male Artist – Country, Favorite Country Album and Favorite Country Song.
Rather than emphasizing all the hard work and dedication Urban put into his craft over the past few years, he made his spiel all about the fans and how the love they continue to show him reflects in these incredible career accomplishments.
“To the fans, you are the best in the world. I love you guys more than you know. Baby girl, I share these with you tonight and our girls, Munchkin and Fifi, watching at home. I love you girls so much. Thank you for all the love in our home and my heart,” Urban dedicated in his short speech.
The country singer couldn’t help but express his undying gratitude even further by creating another thankful video in the car next to Kidman, who acted extremely shocked by the wins as well.
“It’s indescribable…I can’t thank you guys enough,” Urban gushed. “Just thank you. I wish I had an hour to thank everyone because the amount of people that have worked on my album. There’s no way I could thank everyone, but right now to all you guys watching—especially fan-voted award—you are the best.”
Also taking home trophies for the country music community at the American Music Awards included Little Big Town for Favorite Duo or Group – Country and Carrie Underwood as Favorite Female Artist – Country. Florida Georgia Line even peeked in for a little performance on the pop side of their repertoire by collaborating with Hailee Steinfeld on their new EDM-heavy single, “Let Me Go.”
Urban continues to make waves with the release of his latest single, “Female,” which fans can stream or purchase online now.
